Additional information: Training workbooks and certificates are provided. A fully trained Nurse will run the workshop and be available to assist you on the day.
This workshop provides 7.5 hours of continuing education.
Morning and afternoon tea is provided; we ask participants to bring their own lunch. There are no café facilities to buy lunch at Waipuna Hospice.
The number of places available: 10 per workshop.
Aims of the course: To enhance the knowledge and skills of Health Care Assistants/Community Support Workers providing palliative care. This course includes the following modules: Introduction to Palliative Care, Symptom Assessment & Management, Communication Skills for Supporting Patients and Family/Whānau; and Last Days of Life.
Suitable for: Health Care Assistant Caregivers working in any setting, ie. homecare, aged residential care and hospital care.
Cancellation: Due to the popularity of workshops we require at least 3 working days’ cancellation notice for registered participants who can’t attend. If cancellation notice isn’t given the full fee will be charged. If you are unable to attend, a substitute can be sent in your place.
