Foundations of Spiritual Care – Ngā Mātāpono O Te Manaaki Wairua
Professional Development Programme
The Foundations of Spiritual Care workshops are about starting the conversation. They are aimed at those working in a clinical setting to improve our understanding of connection, wairua & spiritual care for those at the end-of-life. It helps us demystify end-of-life conversations and help us understand how spiritual wellness plays a part in quality of life for patients and their whānau.

The expected benefits:
- Patients, families and whānau have their spiritual needs recognised and met
- Increase our knowledge of the fundamentals of te ao Māori & Whanaungatanga
- Understand how to use Te Whare Tapa Whā as a fundamental part of holistic care
- Develop spiritual literacy and shared understanding of connection & spiritual care
- Enhance holistic practice as a part of our overall care plan
The programme is held over two weeks. It is important to attend both weeks workshops to get the most from the course and to complete the full programme.
Part One: Monday 25th August 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Part Two: Monday 1st September 12:30pm – 4:30pm
Cost: $65.00 per person (price covers both part one and part two)
Includes afternoon tea, please advise us of any dietary requirements when booking
