Hospice NZ Syringe Driver Training Program

Welcome to the HNZ Syringe Driver Training Program

This program is for Registered Health Professionals to obtain the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills to gain confidence in syringe drivers. Post this learning, you will be required to complete a competency assessment in your workplace.

There is a three-step pathway for this training:

  • Online Theory Course – 2hrs (Free)
  • In-person Practical Workshop – 1.5 hrs ($40.00 per person)
  • Workplace Competency Assessment

Step One: Online Theory Course

  • This is a 2-hour online course that will provide foundational knowledge prior to any hands-on learning.
  • This consists of theory modules as well as a theory assessment where you need to achieve a pass mark of 80% and a drug calculations assessment where you need to achieve a pass mark of 100%.
  • Successful completion of the online learning is a prerequisite to attend a practical workshop.

To complete this course you’ll need to login or register on the healthLearn platform.

Step Two: Practical Workshop

Once you have completed the online learning and assessments, you can book into a workshop at Waipuna Hospice for a 1.5-hour practical workshop.
